Pesticides - 26 chemicals examined. 6 of the 26 are not
detected. Of the remaining 20, 6 are widely found. The mean
level of 2 of the 6 is higher in Mexican Americans while
the mean level of the remaining 4 is highest in Non-Hispanic
Whites. Of the 14 that are not widely found, the highest
levels of 7 are in Mexican Americans.
Herbicides and Pest repellants and Disinfectants - 9 chemicals
examined. 4 of the 9 are not found in any person. Of the
remaining 5, 3 are widely found and had a mean level highest
in Mexican Americans. The 2 that are not widely found are
detected in highest levels in Non-Hispanic Blacks.
Limited exposure - 1 chemical (3-hydroxychrysene) is only
detected in Mexican-Americans.
