March 2 at 7:30am is a Legislative Breakfast for all legislators. This event will be held at the capital. Following at 9:30am is the next CE Directors meeting. That meeting will be held at the West Des Moines Learning Resource Center.

•Lynn Louk as been hired as the ICEA Executive Director. She will begin her work on February 1, 2004. Welcome Lynn!

•2004 Iowa Celebration of Youth Service Day will be held at Drake’s Knapp Center in Des Moines on Thursday, May 6.

• Kevin Koester, CE Director in Ankeny was named the National Community Education Association President for 2004. Congratulations on Iowa’s first national association president in community education.

•Joe Herrity with the Dept. of Education, joined an elite group to be the first inductees into a new National Community Education Association Hall of Fame.

•CE Directors’ Retreat will be held April 22-23. Watch for more forthcoming information.
